Monday and Tuesday:

Attracting and Retaining Teammates: John Rinehimer & Jared Gleason

Missionaries are Hero Makers. A Hero Maker is someone who serves to help others fulfill God best in their life. Imagine how many more lives could be transformed by the power of the Gospel if we had more Hero Makers. Together let’s explore how to be part of the next big missional movement.

Iron Sharpening Iron: Applying the Mentoring Program on the Field: Jeff and Christine Stanfield

Helping missionaries transition into a new culture is never a “one-size-fits-all” process. Mentoring provides a forum for reflection, guidance, growth and development, setting the stage for thriving missionaries.

Followership: David Hawk

Being a good follower prepares you to lead well. Good leaders cannot lead effectively if those following aren’t following well. In a delicate dance, both followers and leaders bring out the best in each other. We will discuss ways to make each other more effective.

Leadership in the midst of Chaos: Paul

Leadership in cross cultural environments can feel overwhelming. Together we’ll discuss common areas of complexity and principles for leading in the midst of the chaos.

Wednesday and Thursday

Decision Making in Cross Cultural Teams: Don Moon

Who decides and how? Working with team members that have different cultural preferences about decision-making is extremely challenging. We will discuss some issues that are involved and some possible solutions that reflect God’s image.

Engaging Churches in DNA: Mark and Serena Dunbar

Are you frustrated at not seeing true transformation in and through the local churches? We will explore and offer tools and strategies from DNA to help engage local churches from different cultural settings on how to be agents of genuine change in their communities.

Leadership Models: John Muehleisen

It seems like every day there is a new leadership book coming out with a new leadership model. And it’s easy to chase the shiny new “new” thing. This workshop looks at some of classic models, some new models, and identifies some great insights from all that can help us be more effective in our formal and informal leadership influence.

Finding your Paul/Barnabas: Mark Landerholm

As both leadership and cross cultural ministry are difficult and often isolating, we need a Paul or Barnabas in our lives—someone to pour our hearts out to, to encourage us in our faith, to hold us accountable, to pray and rejoice with, etc., yet these relationships often seem impossible to find. We will explore how to foster such relationships, the challenges that must be overcome, and the impact they can have on our lives.
